Ullà is a Catalan municipality located in the Baix Empordà region of the province of Gerona. The river Ter runs through its land and with a mountainous sector through the Montgrí Massif.
History: It belonged to the counts of Ampurias and later passed to the bishopric of Gerona. In its streets it preserves old Gothic and Renaissance buildings from its medieval past. The church of Santa María is neoclassical and is built on another previous Romanesque building from 1362, with the dedication of San Andrés, of which a small part of the apse is preserved. Inside you can venerate the polychrome carving of the Virgen de la Fossa, Romanesque from the old monastery of Santa Maria de Ullà. Near here we find the Hermitage of Santa Caterina, in the Montgrí massif. It is in Torroella de Montgrí.
